Woohoo! I'm download it now. The Christmas podcasts have always been the best ones so far... And now there's one with even a Cyan interview!

I'll post some feedback when I've listened to it. :)

great podcast! Loved the Christmas choir... good advice on the tech chat (*feels ready to tackle Vista*), and great interview with Ryan.

Sounds like Cyan is still moving forward... and Ryan's ideas on the city life are pretty radical... A whole city structure where there are 'elected officials'. I don't know how I feel about the explanation that it's like New York City and not everyone gets to meet the mayor... I guess that's the way it is in my real life... I don't want it to be that way virtually too... but I see what he means.

Since October(when I discovered Uru CD-Rom) this year I have been going through all Uru related websites and have been blown away by the dedication some of you have and I applaud you. Clap.....They all have there merits like these pod casts. Well done.
The Interview made me think (trying to read between the lines....) that Patience will be needed over the next year and I for one am willing to wait and pay. Content is not the most important thing to me (Yes I know the feeligs about content) at the moment as I am new. Journals to copy and read and digest. Myst reader read chat logs read and etc. I do think about the others who have been here since the first time but there are always pro and cons with every thing.
I don't have much disposable income but I do not drink/smoke or go out to the movies. No not a sad life just house bound mostly. I do not play any other games than Myst. I have done in the past but they had no depth to them or quality of story so I stopped buying and playing others games.

What Ryan said about the guilds and what they want to do in the future has given me some hope. Because hope is all we have.
Wow I can't wait, hold on patience thats right!

Take care

Thanks Mowog. You know that sounds like a very scary proposition. I still find it difficult meeting fellow explorers. Thanks for the offer, maybe when I find me feet.
I have already joined SAPS (Society of Anthropologists, Psychologists and Sociologists) Hood so I am getting there.
I did have a thought but I don't know if I should PM you instead. Also it could have been raised already. So I will look abit more and see if it has and go from there.

Even with the anticipation of playing Uru with others, I still remember the first time I saw another explorer in the Cavern; it was during Prologue way back when, and I was in my hood when another explorer linked in. I stood there looking at her for a moment, and then linked away. Hope I didn't hurt her feelings! But needless to say, I eventually got used to it.

As for meeting other explorers in real life, that's another thrill entirely. I was able to rub shoulders with over 160 fellow explorers at Mysterium 2006, including seven of my fellow TCT staffers. And yes, it was a very strange feeling. These were people I'd only corresponded with online up 'til then, with interchanges ranging from forum posts to video chats on Skype. But suddenly, here we were face to face. I was seeing familiar names written on tags worn by total strangers, and hearing well-known voices coming from folks I'd never met. What a hoot... and being addressed as "Mowog" for an entire weekend was a bit odd too.

But what a great community this is... we found that our online friends were the same people in person, except it was now a bit easier to shake hands and hug. BTW, I've posted my Mysterium photos HERE.

So by all means, if you'd like to contribute to TCT, just let us know what you've got! We're always looking for new voices, new writers, new ideas, etc. etc.

Cheers,

Mowog

Seems like I'm one of the few persons who did the opposite of linking away, I started my online adventures when UU was already out for quite some time. And when I first came into UU the first thing I wanted to do was visiting the "public age things" I called them on that time. I really loved that I wasn't alone in Uru, that I didn't have to post on the DMC for everything or buy a book or search for hints on the web at school (it took quite some time before we had internet at home and even more time before I had it on my computer).

So I just love the social aspect of Uru, while playing the group puzzles in Eder Delin and Eder Tsoghal I always get that nice warm feeling and the excitement. It's always as exciting as getting an SCP working on a test server (perhaps even more exciting).

And the social thing really started when I joined the age building project of the DMC and also TCT (at that time still called CCN TCT). And look at me now, I'm still at TCT and I love it
I think I'm even longer here then Jnathus and Anthony

But that doesn't matter. TCT's cool, URU's cool and Cyan's cool.

AMEN !!!!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. Introvert or Extrovert that is the question. Mee I am an introvetish and strive to become part of a like minded community.
I have experienced something like the Mysterium, but second hand so to speak.

My darling wife collected resin Dragons for the last twelve years. Hand sculptured in wax then cast in epoxy/poly resin then hand painted. Lovely pieces of Art not the cheap and nasty stuff you get today. Anyway I have driven all over the UK to buy pieces and to the attend, once a year, the Extravaganser. Meeting people that you only know through forums and MSN but with on difference, we used real names. Most enjoyable though but dragons are not my thing. Collecting anything is not my thing.. ohh darn it I am collecting sparklies...and donuts...relto pages..I can't take it...reaches for.......

Thats better back to the post. I was about to say that it will take me, and others like me, awhile to settle in and find there niche. For me that OK I am paitent and don't want to rush things and find I am waste others peoples time.
I like what you do here and the way you approach things.

Take care

I think it was still 2005 when I joined the staff

Lol, apparently not http://www.thecaverntoday.org/forum/index....ic=1475&hl=

It feels like I've been here for ages (well, I have been here since the beginning as a listener ;) )

I've said in the past that I feel that TCT is made up of the more extroverted of the introverts...
