Title: Aesthetics Guy
Updated 4/27/10 with new versions of image and sig banner code.

I always kind of wanted to make this image, and ironically enough, Christmas day gave me the time and opportunity to make such an image.

This is done keeping in with my whole "in the future TCT's HQ should be in a TCT Bevin" thing I've been blabbing about for several months now.

So I've always pictured in my mind what a Preview image for the next "season" of TCT would look like. I think I've managed to come up with that now. Observe:

tct_coming_soon_desktop.png

By the way, this also makes for a nice Desktop Picture if you have a widescreen Monitor!

So, what do you guys think? Not too shabby, eh?

If you want to see what else I did today, see also: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=2852

=========

EDIT: I've since produced updated versions of this image. Here they are:

I've had a few requests for the sig version of this image that I use, so I'll post it here as well:

wow, great picture!
i had the same idea, sending TCT from the Cavern! :)
i wanted to do this with my Insider. Some episodes will be recorded in Sharpers Office in Aegura, some will be from other Places in Dni.
hopefully other TCT Members (yep, that means you all :) could report from various Ages about things going on in the Dni World :)

Greetings,
Dhel

Mmm. Yeah, TCT Used to broadcast from inside Sharper's Office...my idea was, if we ever do return tot he cavern, that we'd broadcast from within our own Bevin, since we have the resources (Soundproof rooms!!)

Nice work Maurus, and Dhelayan :)

I gotta say - its a pleasure to see that TCT continues to be home to such innovative and inspired people after all this time :)

Agreed, both concepts are way cool! I like the idea of a TCT Hood myself, and I look forward to that becoming a reality.

It's ironic though, we just put a lot of work into a fond farewell with Topside 5, and here we're already plotting a comeback. Technically, we just wrapped up Topside, and not TCT per se. Meaning, we may want to add a new subtitle to the TCT main heading when we return, rather like we did with Topside this time.

I was myself very much hoping for a return to the ways of Old. :) The lack of a subtitle is intentional.
This is more of a piece of artwork than an actual concept though. Artistically speaking what do you think?

Ha... Being a Photoshop geek, of course I have to comment. I really like the way you blurred the background so the foreground objects snap out. Very cool... nice use of depth of field. If I had to make any comment, it would be that you might try brightening the foreground layer containing the mike, headphones, etc. Tonally, they're close enough to the background that they get lost a bit. Or, you could darken the background.

But that's just me being picky. I really like it, and personally I always thought of the Egg Room chambers as the ideal recording studio.

Cheers,

Mowog

That was actually an accident- see, I tried to find a font that would best replicate the font TCT uses, so in a bit of a rush I used the Riven font, forgetting about the formatted V, but when I saw it, I actually rather liked it, so I left it in.

It fits in real nicely with that "A," doesn't it? :)

<! :#FF8C00--> "color:#FF8C00"><!--/ >It's more befitting a Myst / URU fan-based podcast, to be sure. It also brings a bit of interest into the name, making it a bit more eye catching. Being the fan of blue and orange mixture, I'd like to see the text in the burning orange like Miles used for Podcast 26 . . . not so much as a change, but as 'another version.' <!--colorc--> <!--/colorc-->

We already got a Laptop and a Camera, so The Insider is saved ;)

Maurus...

Please, I'm begging you, take a marketing or graphic arts class in college. I'd also recommend a journalism class as well. Dude, you've got some serious style and it takes a special eye to be able to do what you've done. Trust me.

There are a lot of people in the world who can't mesh the fonts, etc, with the precision you've done it with. Most of the time, the best art comes from "Happy Accidents" like the one you had.

In the marketing field, I've found that it's full of hacks that don't come with the credentials of having their degree in Graphic Arts/Marketing etc. What a lot of people don't realize is that there are a LOT of opportunities for musicians in Marketing. It takes the ability to create art, be good with words, work with sound, match music with theme, and have the overall creativity to pull it together beautifully.

Maurus, you've got the goods. Do something with it. Firms like BBDO kill for kids with talent like yours.

Forgive me for being a month slow...but this looks very promising.

Despite the fact that UrU and other communities may (i don't know the real truth) be falling. We'll keep going.
