Well at night, it was good I turned the patio light before I went out there because THIS was in the web:

That spider is upside-down in the web and by the distinctive red and black, you'll know it's a black widow. She did not go peacefully in her sleep. No services will be held.

She's the second black widow I've killed and the first I've pictured. :)

I'm going to have to get used to the poisonous creatures encroaching on my space. At least in Michigan, the poisonous stuff was as easy to find as a 4 leaf clover, and almost as mythical.
