From RobertTheRebuilder:

ATTENTION UNTIL URU EXPLORERS OF THE WORLD!

On 28 February 2006, Marie Sutherland of the DRC had requested that we, the explorer community, select 5 fellow explorers to act as liaisons to the DRC. Since then, many people have exchanged ideas about how to fulfill her request. We now have a final list of nominees for the liaison positions.

Now, we need your help to decide how to vote for the 5 liaisons. Out of all the various methods proposed, we’ve narrowed it down to two voting methods that are presented on the DRC’s web site. We need you to choose the one to use. Here is the link to the forum topic “The DRC Liaison Election Method Pollâ€

I would certainly hope that EVERYONE who is in the Cavern would take the time to read the two proposals and vote for one or the other or for the third choice...to keep on working!

If you do not make your voices heard in this matter then "you takes what you gets" in terms of the voting method.

After all is said and done, we are all Citizens of Uru. :)

At the risk of angering those who don't care and in the hopes of prompting those who do, I am posting the following from RobertTheRebuilder. At the moment of this post, there are only 126 votes in the poll to determine WHICH voting method will be used to elect the rep/liaisons. The poll at the DRC for this ends tomorrow (well, actually 2 a.m. Monday) so if you don't register there and vote on this you will be left with an election method you might not be happy with...or you can ask those working on this to Keep on Working! Here's Robert's post:

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

At 9 pm Eastern on Sunday 26 March (or 2 am Monday 27 March), the
election method poll will end. If you have not voted on an election
method, please visit the site below and provide your opinion:

<a href="http://www.drcsite.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=442" target="_blank">http://www.drcsite.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=442</a>

NOTE: You need to register at the site in order to participate in the
vote.

ireenquench has provided a very helpful comparison chart of the two
proposed methods, in English and in German:

<a href="http://www.drcsite.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10607#10607" target="_blank">http://www.drcsite.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10607#10607</a>

And Eleri has provided an excellent example of preferential voting:

<a href="http://www.drcsite.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10803#10803" target="_blank">http://www.drcsite.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10803#10803</a>

If enough people vote for a proposal, then WHEN THE POLL ENDS, THE
VOTING FOR DRC LIASONS BEGINS!

UU NEEDS "U" - PLEASE VOTE!

Marie said we had tims and that the DRC was not in a hurry so why doing everything do quickly that a big part of the community is left out???

Well, there is a whole week once the Poll on "HOW" to vote is decided and then there will be plenty of time to actually vote for the Nominees...I believe from April 4th through the 14th. Since most explorers don't seem to care how they are going to vote in this "election" (to date only 137 have voted on the way to vote) we shall have to see how many are actually going to vote for the candidates in that ten day period.

My own impression from speaking to a number of explorers is they are uninterested in "how" to vote and just want to actually vote for the nominees or they don't care about the election. Sounds a lot like Real Life to me! :)
