Title: The Last Earbender
Back in '85, my wife and I spent an amazing two weeks in Poland on a choir tour. While spending a couple of days in Krakow, we happened to tour the salt mine in Wieliczka. Much more than just a mine in its day, it was a thriving underground community with its own living quarters, shops, even a cathedral. All of the furnishings, even the chandeliers, are carved out of salt.

It was amazing enough then, but if I were to return today, after all of our adventures in Uru, I would be seriously freaked. See what I mean:

No kidding, all you'd need is a few orange cones and the experience would be overwhelming. Note the guy at center right who's apparantly gone /afk... Looking at the pic, it's almost hard to believe that those are real people standing around, and not avvies.

Amazing, isn't it!

Good question, I noticed that too. At first I thought it was just a lens aberration caused by one of the chandeliers. But there's only that one instance, so I just don't know.

BTW, when we were there, the guide told us that even the chandeliers are made of salt crystals.

Darkuk --

I hadn't noticed those bright spots on the stairs until you mentioned them. Your guess is as good as mine! It appears that they may be lamps or something, perhaps illuminating the rear of the chapel area.

I did some more searching, and here are some more images of the Wieliczka mine. Again, it's uncanny how much the place resembles the Cavern!
